Bruce Dunne for Division 9

Hello to all of my fellow residents. Welcome to my website.

I am running as an independent candidate for Division 9 in the Sunshine Coast Council elections on 28 March, and I am asking for your vote.

Many of you already know me from my previous roles in Council. It’s great to have served time as a Councillor, to know how Council works and what can be achieved as a Councillor. I have also spent time outside of Council – as a resident just like you –and I can look at what Council is doing and what residents want.

That sets me apart from the other candidates in the division.

With my experience both inside Council and on the outside, I can say unequivocally that residents deserve more from Council. That is why I'm running.

We can do better. The current Council is not listening. They bicker among themselves and forget why they’re there.

It’s time for this Council to stop trying to the biggest and best, and start concentrating on efficiency, transparency and common sense.

We don’t need the fastest population growth in the country. We don’t need the shiniest City Hall. We don’t need daily international flights.

We just need to keep focused on the community and deliver the services it needs.

It’s important to have flagship projects like the airport. However, we can’t lose sight of the basics.

As your voice in Council, I’ll keep working hard to improve services and ensure your needs are met.

Previous Council experience with demonstrated performance and achievements

Proven track record of supporting residents and being their dedicated representative

Long-time resident and active community member

I’ll help Council manage climate change at the local level

Division 9 encompasses the communities (or part thereof) of Bli Bli, Coolum Beach, Doonan, Eumundi, Maroochy River, Parklands, Peregian Springs, Peregian Breeze, Valdora, Verrierdale, Weyba Downs, Yandina, Yandina Creek, Marcoola, Pacific Paradise, Mt Coolum.
